Minimum operating system requirements

AndroidLollipop 5.1.1 (API Level 22) + at least 2 GB RAM and 4 GB disk space

Minimum webview requirements

For security and compatibility reasons, one of the latest CipherLab Enterprise Browser versions should always be installed. In contrast to Windows CE, there are very often updates in the Android operating system, sometimes with Breaking Changes which change interfaces or authorizations. For this reason, CipherLab Enterprise Browser is also sold on a subscription basis to ensure that changes to Android, as well as adjustments to connected hardware, are permanently and promptly integrated into CipherLab Enterprise Browser.

In addition, it is important to keep the Webview on Android up to date. The reason for this is that the integrated browser is kept up to date and gets security updates via these apps. The advantage of this is that all critical security updates are created and distributed worldwide and as quickly as possible by Apple and Google. In the event of critical security gaps in the browser, it is not CipherLab Enterprise Browser that needs to be updated, but Safari or the web view.

Depending on the version, there are different options for accessing the web view for Android. This is because Google has changed its mind several times on how it wants to distribute the webview.
